Inferior vesical artery

Arteria vesicalis inferior

Definition

Antoine Micheau

The inferior vesical artery is the second branch of the anterior division of internal iliac artery, or may share a common trunk with the middle rectal artery

Usually only present in males, the inferior vesical artery supplies the inferior aspect of the bladder and has branches that serve the prostate (prostatic branches and prostatic artery) and seminal vesicles, and sometimes the ductus deferens.

The inferior vesical artery usually corresponds to the vaginal artery in female.
