Left subclavian lymphatic trunk

Truncus lymphaticus subclavius sinister

  • Synonym: Left subclavian trunk; Left subclavian lymph trunk

Definition

Antoine Micheau

The left subclavian lymphatic trunk drains lymph from the upper left quadrant of the body, including the left arm, left side of the thorax, and parts of the head and neck.

It begins in the medial axillary lymph nodes and travels towards the jugulosubclavian angle, where it typically joins the thoracic duct or directly enters the venous system at the junction of the left internal jugular and subclavian veins.
