The gyrus geniculi is a small protrusion of gray matter located in the supracommissural part of the hippocampus, in the rhinencephalon, ventral to the rostrum of the corpus callosum, forming, together with the supracallosal gyrus and the indusium griseum, a gray band surrounding the corpus callosum.
