The septal part of the rhinencephalon is the medial portion of each cerebral hemisphere, located rostrally and forming the medial wall of the lateral ventricle, including notably the septum pellucidum, the cellular septum, and the paraterminal gyrus.

It plays a role in limbic system circuits involved in reward, emotions, and affective behaviors.
