Definition
The muscular part of the interventricular septum is the thick, muscular wall that separates the right and left ventricles, extending from the base of the heart to the apex. It constitutes the majority of the septal mass, with the remainder being the much smaller membranous part located superiorly near the aortic and tricuspid valves.
