Pallidum [Globus pallidus]
Definition
The pallidum (globus pallidus) is a basal nucleus medial to the putamen, with a reticulated structure, separated by internal and external medullary laminae, which controls movement by regulating thalamocortical circuit activity through inhibition of the endopeduncular nucleus.
