Definition

The pancreaticoduodenal lymph nodess are a group of abdominal lymph nodes located adjacent to the duodenum and the pancreas, near the cranial and caudal pancreaticoduodenal arteries. These nodes are found along the mesenteric border of the duodenum, at the junction of the right lobe of the pancreas and the descending duodenum, and are closely associated with the vascular arcades supplying these organs.

The pancreaticoduodenal lymph nodes receive afferent lymphatics from the duodenum, the right lobe of the pancreas, and the pyloric region of the stomach. Efferent lymphatics from these nodes drain primarily to the hepatic and jejunal lymph nodes, and ultimately to the celiac and cranial mesenteric lymph centers.
