Impressio renalis
Definition
The renal impression of the liver refers to a concavity or fossa on the visceral surface of the liver and the dorsal border of liver where it contacts the cranial pole of the right kidney.
In dogs, it is located on the the caudate process of the caudate lobe of the liver.
It is absent in pigs.
