Definition
The distal tendon of the abductor hallucis inserts onto the medial side of the base of the proximal phalanx of the hallux (great toe), often blending with the medial aspect of the flexor hallucis brevis tendon and the medial sesamoid bone on the plantar plate complex of great toe.
