Bicipitoradial bursa

Bursa bicipitoradialis

Definition

Muhammad A. Javaid

The bicipitoradial bursa is a large synovial bursa located in the cubital (antecubital) region, between the biceps brachii tendon and the radial tuberosity. It also extends slightly to surround the distal portion of the biceps tendon as it inserts into the radial tuberosity.

The size and shape of the bicipitoradial bursa varies with forearm position — it becomes compressed in pronation and expanded in supination, reflecting its close functional relationship with forearm rotation.
