The subtendinous bursa of the teres major is a small synovial sac situated between the teres major tendon and the humerus near its insertion on the medial lip of the intertubercular sulcus. It may extend between the teres major and latissimus dorsi tendons, where they twist around each other before attaching. The bursa minimizes friction and allows smooth gliding of these tendons during shoulder movements.
