Lateral perforating veins of foot
Vena perforantes lateralis pedis
Definition
The lateral perforating veins of the foot are most commonly found along the lateral aspect of the foot, particularly near the base and shaft of the fifth metatarsal, and are associated with the lateral plantar vein and the lateral plantar artery perforators.
These small veins traverse the deep fascia to connect the superficial venous system (mainly the lateral marginal vein and dorsal venous arch) with the deep venous system of the foot.
