Definition
The subtendinous bursa of iliacus muscle is located between the lesser trochanter and the iliopsoas tendon.
Note that this bursa is sometimes termed as "iliopsoas bursa", but the anatomical structures called iliopsoas bursa refers to different bursae, varying from sources:
For the majority of authors and sources (1), the iliopsoas bursa refers to the iliopectineal bursa.
In the Terminologia Anatomica 2, the iliopsoas bursa refers to the subtendinous bursa of iliacus muscle.
