Caudal fascia [Coccygeal fascia]

Fascia caudae [coccygis]

Definition

Anne-Sophie Emeric

The caudal fascia is a solid fibro-elastic membrane that covers and envelops each of the tail muscles. It is continuously connected to the gluteal fascia. It consists of a superficial part, thin and covered by the superficial fascia of the skin, and a thicker part that penetrates more deeply between the various muscles.
