Definition
The body (shaft) of tibia is craniocaudally compressed and presents 3 borders and 3 surfaces:
- Medial surface
- Lateral surface
- Caudal surface
- Cranial border (formerly known as the tibial crest)
- Medial border
- Lateral border (interosseous border, lateral border facing the fibula in carnivores, pigs and horses and attachment of interosseous membrane).
