Extremitas cranialis
Definition
The cranial extremity of the kidney refers to the upper (or anterior) pole of the kidney, which is directed toward the head (cranial direction) of the animal. It is in close anatomical relation with the caudate process of the caudate lobe of the liver fot the left kidney, and on contact of the spleen for the left kidney.
