Distal recess of podotrochlear bursa
Recessus distalis bursae podotrochlearis
Definition
In horses, the podotrochlear bursa (navicular bursa) is interposed between the deep digital flexor tendon and the distal sesamoid bone.
This bursa extends beyond the borders of the sesamoid bone, forming a distal and a proximal recess.
