Inferior conjunctival fornix

Fornix conjunctivae inferior

Definition

Felipe Barona Lopez

The inferior conjunctival fornix is the inferior end of the conjunctival sac, where the conjunctiva transits between its palpebral and bulbar parts. The inferior conjunctival fornix is less deep than the superior fornix.

The conjunctival fornixes are the loosest and most folded, with the highest concentration of conjunctival glands and lymphonoduli aggregati conjunctivales.
