Lacrimal caruncle
Caruncula lacrimalis
Definition
The lacrimal caruncle is a small, round protuberance of the conjunctiva at the medial palpebral commissure. It has fine hairs and sebaceous and sweat glands.
In dogs, there is a specific gland called the glandula carunculae lacrimalis.
