Internal abdominal oblique muscle - Insertion

Musculus obliquus internus abdominis - Insertio

Definition

Anne-Sophie Emeric

The internal abdominal oblique muscle originates from the thoracolumbar fascia, the ventrocranial iliac spine, the iliac crest, and the dorsolateral third of the inguinal arch. The internal abdominal oblique muscle inserts on the inner surface of the last three or four costal cartilages and along the entire linea alba, extending to the prepubic tendon.
