Prepubic tendon
Tendo prepubicus [prae-]
Definition
The prepubic tendon is a dense tendinous structure formed by the fusion of the aponeuroses of the abdominal muscles, attaching to the cranial border of the pubis. It acts as the caudal anchorage of the abdominal wall and provides mechanical support to the abdominal viscera and mammary apparatus, especially developed in large herbivores.
