Definition
The dorsal lateral sacrococcygeal muscle originates as a continuation of the longissimus muscle, fleshy from the aponeurosis of the longissimus and tendinous from the mammillary processes of the first to sixth lumbar vertebrae, the articular processes of the sacrum, and the mammillary processes of at least the first eight caudal vertebrae.
