- Related terms: Lateral surface of humerus
Definition
The lateral surface of the body of the humerus is largely occupied by the oblique groove of the brachial muscle, running in a craniodistal direction. It is bounded anteriorly by the humeral crest, which proximally bears the deltoid tuberosity, and posteriorly by the lateral epicondylar crest, which becomes more prominent toward the distal extremity.
