Definition

Anne-Sophie Emeric

The medial surface of the body of the humerus is generally smooth and slightly convex in the craniocaudal direction. It bears the tuberosity for the teres major muscle, providing attachment for the teres major and latissimus dorsi muscles. In carnivores, this tuberosity is replaced by the crest of the lesser tubercle.
