Mandible

Mandibula

Definition

Stephan Mahler

The mandible is a flat, even, symmetrical bone. The two opposing mandibles are joined at their rostral ends to form the lower jaw. It articulates with the squamous part of the temporal bone at the temporomandibular joint.

The mandible is formed of two parts: one, rostral and horizontal, is the body of mandible and the other, caudal and vertical, is the ramus of mandible.
