Definition

Juliette Garnodier

The nose and the paranasal sinuses form an essential anatomical region of the skull, involved in respiration, olfaction, and sound resonance.

  • The nose consists of an external part, visible on the face, and an internal part, made up of the nasal cavities.

  • The paranasal sinuses are air-filled cavities within the bones of the head, lined with respiratory mucosa and communicating with the nasal cavities.
