Orbital margin
Margo orbitalis
Definition
The orbital margin is circular, delimiting the orbital opening, and is subdivided into two borders :
The supraorbital margin, forming the dorsal part, is formed by the frontal and lacrimal bones.
The infraorbital margin, forming the ventral part, is formed by the zygomatic bone.
Variation:
In dogs, cats, and pigs, the orbital rim is incomplete and is completed by an orbital ligament.
