Temporal line
Linea temporalis
- Related terms: Temporal line (Interparietal bone)
Definition
The temporal lines, of which there are two, originate from the bifurcation of the external sagittal crest. They diverge rostrally on the parietal and frontal bones, thus defining the temporal fossae.
In carnivores and equids, the temporal line serves as the attachment point for the temporal fascia.
