Transverse costal facet
Fovea costalis processus transversi
Definition
The transverse costal facet are located on the transverse process of the thoracic vertebrae and articulate with the costal tubercle of the corresponding rib, thus forming a costovertebral joint, also called the costotransverse joint.
Variation:
In cats, it is present from the first to the tenth vertebra.
