Base of lung
Basis pulmonis
Definition
The base of the lung is the broad, concave caudal surface of each lung that rests directly against the convex surface of the diaphragm. It forms the caudal boundary of the organ and extends into the costodiaphragmatic recess of the pleural cavity.
