Caudal nasal spine

Spina nasalis caudalis

Definition

The caudal nasal spine (Spina nasalis caudalis), that gives attachment to the palatine velum, is located at the junction between the median palatine suture (Sutura palatina mediana) and the caudal free border (Margo liber) of the horizontal plate of the palatine bone.

In Equidae and Bulls, it is hardly visible;

in Dogs and Men, it is well developed.
