Central fibrous body of heart
Centrum fibrosum cordis
Definition
The central fibrous body of the heart is a dense, compact mass of connective tissue forming the core of the cardiac fibrous skeleton, located between the atrioventricular and arterial valve rings. It is formed by the fusion of the right and left fibrous trigones (in humans it is mainly formed by the right fibrous trigone) and connects the fibrous rings of the mitral, tricuspid, and aortic valves.
