Columna fornicis

Definition

Juliette Garnodier

The column of the fornix, located in the rhinencephalon, is the part that, at the level of the rostral commissure, divides into a precommissural projection to the septum and rostral hypothalamus, and a postcommissural projection to the rostral thalamic nuclei and mammillary nuclei, with some axons continuing their course to the midbrain.
