The rostral commissure is a fiber bundle crossing the midline, whose rostral part becomes the intermediate olfactory tract to reciprocally connect the olfactory bulbs and rostral olfactory nuclei, and whose caudal part joins the external capsule to bilaterally connect the amygdala and the piriform lobe.
