The rostral part of the rostral commissure is the portion of the commissure that extends forward along the ventral edge of the internal capsule and enters the olfactory peduncle to form the intermediate olfactory tract, providing reciprocal connections between the olfactory bulbs and the rostral olfactory nuclei.
