Olfactory peduncle

Pedunculus olfactorius

Definition

Juliette Garnodier

The olfactory peduncle is a large cord of white matter that connects the olfactory bulb to other structures of the rhinencephalon. It ends by dividing into three olfactory tracts: medial, lateral, and intermediate.

In humans, the equivalent of the olfactory peduncle is long and slender and is called the olfactory tract.
