Accessory olfactory bulb
Bulbus olfactorius accessorius
Definition
The accessory olfactory bulb is a small structure located on the dorsomedial surface of the olfactory bulb, in the rhinencephelon. It receives axons from the vomeronasal organ neurons, has a layered organization similar to that of the main olfactory bulb, and maintains reciprocal connections with the amygdala.
