Foramen costotransversarium
Definition
The costotransverse foramen is the space between the neck and tubercle of the rib, and the body of vertebra. It is the homologous to the transverse foramen of a cervical vertebra. It is the opening for the intercostal nerve.
Note: this structure is not included in the VIth edition of the NAV.
