The lateral surface of the zygomatic bone is the external, visible surface of this bone, located on the lateral wall of the skull, forming the cheek.

Convex and smooth, it contributes to the lateral delimitation of the face and the formation of the zygomatic arch, articulating with the zygomatic process of the temporal bone and the temporal process of the zygomatic bone. This surface serves as a site for muscle attachment, particularly for muscles of mastication, especially the masseter muscle.
