Limen nasi

The limen nasi  forms the threshold of the nasal cavity. In equines the demarcation is obvious whereas in ox it is less visible. In general, there is a small elevation of the wall at its level. Weak in humans, this projection is thicker and clearer in ruminants, in equines it delimits a real vestibulo-nasal orifice.
