Ventral nasal meatus

Meatus nasi ventralis

Definition

The ventral or inferior nasal meatus (Meatus nasi ventralis) is the widest and also the shortest.  Its wall connects to the floor of the nose; the sphenopalatine foramen (Foramen sphenopalatinum) opens at its caudal extremity.

This meatus reaches the caudal apreture of the nasal cavity or choane.
