Reticular nucleus of thalamus
Nucleus reticulatus thalami
Definition
The thalamic reticular nucleus is separated from the other nuclei by the external medullary lamina. Its projection neurons are inhibitory and target other thalamic nuclei rather than the cerebral cortex.
