Vomerine groove [Septal]

Sulcus vomeris [septalis]

Definition

Andréa Lopes da Costa

The vomerine groove is a longitudinal, median depression located on the dorsal surface of the vomer, which accommodates the cartilage of the nasal septum.

It therefore contributes to the separation of the nasal cavities and the proper alignment of the midline structures of the nasal cavity.
