Body of incisive bone

Corpus ossis incisivi

Definition

The body of the incisive bone  (Corpus ossis incisivi) is more or less flatenned from top to bottom, and has therefore a dorsal or labial surface and a ventral or palatine surface.

The labial surface (Facies labialis) is convex and smooth; a small part of its surface contributes to form the rostral floor of the nasal cavity.

The palatine surface (Facies palatina) is concave and also smooth.
