Cranial lobe of left lung

Lobus cranialis pulmonis sinistri

Definition

Juliette Garnodier

The cranial lobe of the left lung is a division of the left lung. It is ventilated by the left cranial lobar bronchus, which branches from the left principal bronchus.

It is subdivided into two segments: cranial and caudal and partly extends toward the pulmonary apex. The medial surface of this lobe is excavated by the heart, contributing to the cardiac impression.
