Frontal process

Processus frontalis

  • Related terms: Frontal process of maxilla

Definition

The lacrimal bone unites to its neighbours by the periphery which is very irregular and denticulate. In certain species (horse, dog) the orbital crest continues dorsally by a protrusion more or less strong that inserts into the frontal bone: it is the frontal process (Processus frontalis).
