Body of maxilla

The body of the maxilla (Corpus maxillae) is the principal part of the bone; it is spread on the side of the face, thick, and carved by the maxillary sinus.

Its extensions are the palatine process, the alveolar process and, in some species (Men, Carnivorous, Glires), the frontal process.
