Nasal surface

Facies nasalis

Definition

Andréa Lopes da Costa

The nasal surface of the maxilla is the medial surface of the body of maxilla.

It contributes to the formation of the lateral wall of the nasal cavity and plays a role in the organization of the nasal meatuses and the support of the nasal turbinates, particularly the ventral nasal concha, which attaches to the conchal crest along this surface.

It also features several openings and grooves, including the opening of the maxillary sinus and the nasal foramina for the passage of blood vessels and nerves.
