Facies interna

Definition

Andréa Lopes da Costa

The internal surface of the nasal bone is more or less concave from one side to the other and forms the roof of the nasal cavity.

The ethmoidal crest runs along its length, providing attachment for the dorsal nasal concha.

Variation:

In some species, its caudal portion extends to the frontal sinus.
