Definition
The molar part (Pars molaris) of the mandible is much more extended, elongated in the rostrocaudal direction, and flatenned from side to side. It has two surfaces, two borders and two ends:
-the lateral or buccal surface (Facies buccalis) and the medial or lingual surface:
-the dorsal border (interalveolar border and the alveolar border) and the ventral border;
-the rostral end that unites to the incisive part and the broader caudal end that unites to the ramus of the mandible.
